My Stephen

Posted by Picasa
This is my buddy and son Stephen, 17 years of age. He is spending the summer in the most wonderful residential school in the USA, in my opinion. I feel so blessed to have a fabulous doctor for Stephen, Dr. Nina Bass, who loves Stephen and recommended Stewart Home School to our family. Stephen is also one of the reasons I've chosen to be a Shaklee Independent Distributor. http://nancyhyde.myshaklee.com I'm building my business to help people be healthy and to have the income to support Stephen for the rest of his life.

I'm taking a knife class

Wow, I just spent 2 1/2 hours in my 2nd knife class. It is pretty intense but I am really learning how to keep myself safe from an attacker and to defend myself, if necessary.

My husband, Art, is the instructor and it has been eye opening observing him as a teacher. He always surprises me, like in the first class I found out he was a bouncer in college AND that four years ago it was almost stabbed by a guy trying to rob him on the streets of Chicago....now why didn't he ever tell me that?!!! I have often wondered, while I was sitting at home with Stephen, why he was so interested in the gym and karate and knives and stick classes? Well, I finally have my answer, self preservation, and the fact that he enjoys doing something different than his everyday job as a "VP suit". And, that there is extra income to help take care of Stephen.

And, speaking of Stephen, I really miss him. He's been at Stewart Home School in Frankfort KY since June 1 and I've only talked with him in the three months he'll be gone. We pick him up the end of August and are hoping he won't get bored being home and in high school. He's had such a fun and busy summer.

Back from Convention

I just got back from 6 days in St. Louis where I attended the Shaklee convention. We had a blast and ate way too much.

The restaurants in St. L were great with my favorite being the Braodway Oyster Bar...not anything to look at from the outside, but a great dive on the inside with fabulous service and food!

The convention was great; meeting new and old friends, great workshops, videos, and our very own chairman and CEO Roger Barnett encouraging us with new product updates, new clinical studies and the most incredible incentives to build our business.

Now, what do I do with all of this? I have to decide to work my business, talk with people about the incredible products that Shaklee has to offer. Encourage people to take care of their health, to not depend on medications. The key is "Preventative Care" NOT "Illness Care". We can prevent sickness and disease just by supporting the body with good nutrition! Yes, it's just that easy.

Did you know that we have a product that will help you heal from Hepatitis C? More later!
